CHIEF AVIATION MACHINIST MATE
Air Warfare
Allen D. Franklin
I have the most distinct pleasure to be in my thirteenth year as a Naval Science Instructor in Lemoore's NJROTC Program. I currently teach the Naval Science 2 class consisting primarily of second year cadets. I also advise cadets in the administrative department, as well as the color guard, flag detail and many "special" teams.
Prior to coming to this program I was in the U.S. Navy for twenty years. While my disignated career was as a jet mechanic, I actually had many career opportunities including safety program administrator, quality assurance, financial counselor, drug counselor, enviromental specialist, Nuclear Weapons technician, grocery clerk, food prep, classroom instructor, defense lawyer, buffer tech, janitor, and logistics specialist (just to name a few). Needless to say my naval career was extremely interesting and rewarding.
However, as interesting and rewarding as my naval career was, it pales in comparison to my experience at Lemoore NJROTC. The cadets are the most inspiring kids I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. More importantly, each year at graduation when I think we are losing the best kids the program has ever had, a new group shows up the next school year that are just as dedicated and inspiring.
